What is my credit limit?

This is the total agreed amount of credit available on your credit card. It does not necessarily reflect the amount you have available to spend.

How can I change my credit limit?

You can request to increase or decrease your credit limit online.

1. Log in to online banking and select the relevant credit card account. Then select 'Change Credit Limit' in the 'Account Actions' menu.
2. If you have more than one credit card, you’ll see a drop-down menu. Select the relevant card.
3. Enter the credit limit you'd like to request.

Once you’ve submitted your request, we’ll review it and get back to you by secure message within two working days.

You can also change your credit limit by calling us on 0345 600 6000. Lines are open 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday (call charges).

What happens if I exceed my credit limit?

You may be charged if you exceed your credit limit. If you don't bring your balance back within your credit limit we may block your card. Your credit file may be impacted, which could also impact future credit applications.
