Change your name

To change the name on your account you'll need to send in an original or certified copy of your marriage certificate, decree absolute or deed poll document plus examples of your old and new signatures.

Once we receive your change of details, we'll update your name and confirm this in writing to you. We'll also return any supporting evidence you've provided. This usually takes between 7-10 working days.

If you don't want to post your documents, you can take them into your local Co-operative Bank branch.

Change your address, phone number or email address in online banking

Log in to online banking and:

  • go to your 'Profile' page
  • follow the on-screen instructions to update your contact details
  • enter your password, 6-digit security code and the verification code we send to you.

Please allow 1 working day for your phone number or address to be updated.

Online banking won't accept phone numbers that are over 12 digits. If your new phone number is over 12 digits long, you'll need to contact us so we can change it for you.

Change your phone number or email address in the mobile app

Log in to the app and:

  • go to 'My settings and details'
  • select 'Update number or email' from the bottom of the page
  • verify the change by using your fingerprint, passnumber or Face ID.

Please allow 1 working day for your phone number to be updated.

Our app won't accept phone numbers that are over 12 digits. If your new phone number is over 12 digits long, you'll need to contact us so we can change it for you.

Change your login details

Forgotten username

You can't change your username. If you've forgotten your username please go to the forgotten username page. You'll be asked to enter and confirm your email address. We'll send a username reminder to your registered email address within a couple of hours.

Change your password and security code

Log in to online banking and:

  • visit your 'Profile' page
  • select 'Change your password' or 'Change your security code'
  • follow the on-screen instructions
  • you'll need to enter your password, 6-digit security code and the verification code we send to you.
