Understanding application declines

We know it can be disappointing to hear your application has been declined. Some of the reasons this might happen include:

You already have an account of the same issue

You must not already have a Regular Saver or Select Access Saver of the same issue as the one you've applied for.

You do not have a current account

You must have one of our current accounts if you've applied for one of our exclusive savings accounts.

You have not met other required criteria

This could be because you have not met the age and UK residency requirements, or for other reasons.

What you can do after a decline

You could take a look at our other savings account to see if another one could suit your needs.

Get updates in your application portal

Once you've submitted your application and received a text message or email from us saying we received your application, you can check the status of it by logging into your application portal.

Do not share your code with anyone

If you have been called and asked for your one time passcode (OTP), hang up and call 159 - you are being scammed.
