Home Insurance can help protect you from unexpected events like escape of water, fire, storm, floods and theft.
Legal & General offer buildings cover, contents cover or a combined buildings and contents policy.
- A combined policy helps give you peace of mind that your property and contents are protected together
- Buildings insurance will cover you for loss or damage to the structure of your home (including its garages and outbuildings) against insured events
- Contents insurance will cover the contents of your property and your personal belongings against loss or damage against insured events in the home
You can choose to take out Home Cover Extra or Everyday Home Cover.
What Home Cover Extra provides
A comprehensive level of cover for a wide range of events. It includes Accidental Damage and Home Emergency Cover as standard (tenants are not eligible for Home Emergency cover). With the option to add Personal Possessions Cover Away from the Home, Bicycle Cover, Valuable Items Cover and Family Legal Protection.
What Everyday Home Cover provides
A lower level of cover, but still includes important protection against events like fire, flood, storms, subsidence, escape of water and theft. You can choose to add additional cover like Accidental Damage, Home Emergency Cover (tenants are not eligible for Home Emergency cover), Personal Possessions Cover Away from the Home, Bicycle Cover, Valuable Items Cover and Family Legal Protection.

Your chosen excess will apply on each claim (minimum £150). For Escape if Water claims your chosen excess plus £200 will apply. In the event of subsidence, heave or landslip, there’s an excess of £1,000 under Buildings Insurance.
