We pioneer banking that makes a positive difference to the lives of our customers and communities, and takes a stand on the causes they care about.
Our customers have told us that supporting human rights matters to them. That’s why it is one of the original and longest-standing commitments in our Ethical Policy, in which we promise to promote human rights and equality, supporting the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Amnesty International UK. Throughout that time, we have stood together in support of individuals who are at risk from defending human rights.
We are now helping to develop the next generation of human rights defenders by supporting Rise Up, a year-long training programme designed to enable young people to create the change they want to see in their communities.
Whether it’s advocacy, media work, communication or leadership, Rise Up will train a group of young people – each with different backgrounds, experiences and goals – and empower them with the tools and skills they need to become effective human rights campaigners and change-makers of the future.
We believe that co-operation leads to a better society for everyone. We are a community of people who get involved, and are passionate about causes that align to our values and ethics, protecting human rights and equality.
Every day, ordinary people with extraordinary passion are standing up for freedom and equality in communities all over the world. We are supporting Amnesty International UK’s Rise Up programme to ensure that a new generation of human rights defenders have the skills and confidence to speak up and create change, becoming better connected, recognised and equipped for what is to come.
These youth activists are truly people with purpose, and we are proud to support them on their journey.
