Change your name

To change the name on your account you'll need to send in an original or certified copy of your marriage certificate, decree absolute or deed poll document plus examples of your old and new signatures.

Once we receive your change of details, we'll update your name and confirm this in writing to you. We'll also return any supporting evidence you've provided. This usually takes between 7-10 working days.

If you don't want to post your documents, you can take them into your local Co-operative Bank branch.

Change your name on your mortgage account

You can change the name on your mortgage account by completing and submitting the form below. 

Change your address, phone number or email address in online banking

Log in to online banking and:

  • Click 'My details' from the main menu
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to update your contact details
  • Enter your password and the verification code we send to you. When we send a verification code in online banking, we’ll tell you in the message what the code is for. If you ever receive a code you were not expecting, or if the code is for a different transaction, contact us on 159.
  • Please allow 1 working day for your phone number or address to be updated.

Online banking won't accept phone numbers that are 12 digits or over. If your new phone number is over 12 digits long, you'll need to contact us so we can change it for you.

Change your phone number or email address in the mobile app

Log in to the app, and:

  1. Tap 'More' in the bottom right corner while you're on the main accounts screen
  2. Tap 'My settings and details'
  3. Tap 'Personal details'
  4. Tap 'Edit' on the phone number field
  5. Once updated, tap 'Save'.

We'll ask you to verify the change by using your fingerprint, passnumber, or facial recognition. Please allow 1 working day for your phone number to be updated.

Our app won't accept phone numbers that are over 12 digits. If your new phone number is over 12 digits long, you'll need to contact us so we can change it for you.

Change your contact details if you don't have online banking or the mobile app

You can register for online banking or get the mobile app.
