Cryptocurrency payment restrictions

We’re restricting payments related to cryptocurrency. We may block or refuse payments we identify as being made to cryptocurrency merchants.

This may include payments to platforms that offer more than just cryptocurrency exchange, for example shares or savings accounts.

This applies to payments made through:

  • online banking and mobile app
  • branches
  • our contact centre
  • your card.

Why we’re restricting these payments

We've seen an increase in cryptocurrency scams. To keep your money safe, we've set up these restrictions.
