What happens next?

Now you've submitted your application we'll carry out our checks. This normally takes 24 hours, but sometimes up to five working days.

  • ID check

    If we are unable to verify your identity, we may need some additional information to progress your application. If so, you will receive a text and email requesting that you upload your documents via our secure online platform, managed by our trusted partner Onfido. This will only take a few minutes.

  • When your account is open

    You’ll receive a welcome email or letter with your new sort code and account number. You need to wait for your account to finish processing before registering. This can take up to two business days.

    If you'd like to switch your account to us and didn't request this as part of your application, you can request a switch once your account is open. Find out more about switching.

  • Within three to five working days

    We’ll send your debit card.

  • Two to three days after receiving your debit card

    You'll receive your PIN.

If you have an existing current account with another bank, you can choose to switch it to us once your account is open.

This means your existing balance, Direct Debits, standing orders and bill payments will be redirected and transferred automatically.

It is quick and easy to switch using the Current Account Switch Service and it takes seven working days.

If you have already applied to switch

If you applied to switch as part of your application, you do not need to do anything more. We will keep you updated on the progress over the seven days by text or email.

We'll be in touch within 5 days with the outcome of your application. If your application was not approved, you’ll receive a letter or email with the reason.

All applications for bank accounts, whether successful or not, show up on your credit file. We'll keep a record of your application and the outcome.

If you have not heard from us within 5 days, call us on 03457 212 212. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 5pm. Call charges apply.

If you're an existing customer and you've used new contact details in your application, they will not automatically update across all of your accounts.

To update your details across every account, log in to online banking and change them on the ‘My details’ section which you can find on the left-hand side navigation

Register and digitally bank with us

You need to wait for your account to finish processing before registering.
This can take up to two business days.

Find our mobile app on the Apple Store or Google Play Store. You can download it at any time.

Before you register for our mobile app, you’ll need to make sure you’re registered for online banking.

You can either do this by tapping ‘Register for online banking’ in the app, or register for online banking on our website.

Once your account has finished processing, you can register for online banking. You’ll need your sort code and account number.
