Student Account

An account that helps you make the most of student life.

You may only have one student account open at any given time.

  • £1,400 interest free overdraft in your 1st year.
  • Up to £1,700 interest free overdraft in your 2nd year.
  • Up to £2,000 interest free overdraft in your 3rd year.
    • Approval is based on a credit check, an assessment of your personal circumstances and is subject to status.
    • You need to be 18 or over to arrange an overdraft and you will need to pay in £300 or more to activate it.
    • You'll be charged debit interest if you go over the interest-free overdraft limits.
    • You will need to contact us to request an increase to your overdraft limit. Your overdraft limit will not automatically increase in your 2nd, 3rd, or subsequent years of study. Approval will depend on an assessment of account conduct.
  • With our Student Account overdraft, there is no monthly account fee and no overdraft charges. You’ll only be charged interest if you go over your overdraft limit.
  • For the first year after you finish your degree, your overdraft will be interest free and there will be no monthly account fees.

1 year after the end of your final year of study your account will convert automatically to our Current Account. We will treat the end of your final year as the end date that was supplied as part of your application.
