I have several accounts, which one should I upgrade to the Everyday Extra Current Account?

All accounts that are eligible for an application to upgrade will be highlighted when you're logged into online banking. It is up to you which of your accounts you would like to upgrade, and there are a number of items to consider:

  • If you have a sole account and a joint account which are both eligible, you should bear in mind that under a joint account upgrade, both account holders would be covered - independently - for the same price. Once you have upgraded a sole account to Everyday Extra Current Account, you won’t be able to add an additional account holder.
  • If you have a Current Account and a Current Account Plus which are both eligible, you should bear in mind that under a Current Account Plus upgrade, the £200 product overdraft facility will be removed (although if you have agreed an arranged overdraft limit with us which is greater than £200, this will be retained).
  • If you have a Clear Credit Card, you currently benefit from a lower preferential interest rate. You will no longer be eligible for this once your Privilege, Privilege Premier or Current Account Plus has been converted and the interest rate will increase. After you have converted, you will be charged the standard interest rate set out in your Clear Card Terms and Conditions and we will write to you reminding you of this rate.
  • Your Savings Plus account will be converted to a Linked Savings account which pays a lower variable rate of interest. The Savings Plus account interest rate is guaranteed to not fall more than 0.5% below the Bank of England base rate.
