What is InterpretersLive!?

If you use British Sign Language (BSL) as your primary language, you can contact us through InterpretersLive!. This is a safe and secure interpreting service that connects you to BSL interpreters through a video call.

InterpretersLive! is available on demand from Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 12 noon. You can also book an interpreter in advance.

InterpretersLive! is a free service and you will not be charged.

How InterpretersLive! works

You can contact us using InterpretersLive! in two ways:

  • Through a link on your computer or your mobile
  • Through the InterpretersLive! app on your mobile.

Before your call is connected to us, you will be given the option to select which of our teams you would like to talk to. Then InterpretersLive! will connect you to an interpreter so you can sign your message to them.

The interpreter will:

  1. Call us and share your message with us in English
  2. Share our response with you in BSL.

  • Personal
  • Business
  • Mortgages
  • Platform mortgages.
  • If you are visiting us in branch, we will use InterpretersLive! to connect you to an interpreter when you visit us.

How to start a call with InterpretersLive!

To connect to InterpretersLive!, you'll need a computer or tablet with internet connection or a mobile device with 4G or 5G mobile data signal. You'll also need to enable access to your camera and microphone. For the best experience, please use the latest version of your operating system and browser.

To use InterpretersLive! through a link on your computer or mobile:

  1. Click Connect to a BSL interpreter
  2. Select which of our teams you would like to talk to and click 'Connect Now'.

Alternatively, you can:

  1. Go to the directory on the InterpretersLive! website
  2. Find 'The Co-operative Bank' and click 'Connect'
  3. Click 'Connect to BSL Interpreter'
  4. Select which of our teams you would like to talk to and click 'Connect Now'.

You need to download the InterpretersLive! app before you can use it.

To do this, visit the Google Play Store or App Store and search for InterpretersLive!

To use the InterpretersLive! app on your mobile:

  1. In the app, select 'Directory'
  2. Find and select 'The Co-operative Bank'
  3. Select 'Call Now'
  4. Select which of our teams you would like to talk to and click 'Connect Now'.
