What is a podcast?

A podcast is similar to a radio station that broadcasts just one show, but there are lots of different episodes of this one show. Each 'episode' can be listened to via a podcast player, such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify or Google Podcasts.

Traditionally each podcast sticks with one format, such as comedy, history or storytelling.

There can be many episodes, but every episode has a similar sound or format.

What is The Co-operative Bank’s podcast all about?

In our new podcast you’ll be able to hear from our colleagues and partners – people with purpose - as they share with us their stories and passions, both in and outside of banking. We’ll also have episodes providing helpful banking and digital tips.

So, whilst we will have guests who reflect our values and ethics, the episodes tend to be about their life and the rich stories and anecdotes that they will share.

Could you give me an example of your podcast?

One great example is when we spoke to one of our charity partners, Kate Allen. We chatted about her personal experiences and early influences which helped her journey to becoming Director of Amnesty International. So, whilst Kate is from Amnesty, you can hear about her own rich personal story. You can listen to it here:

Another example is when we celebrated LGBT History Month.

A group of colleagues got together and chatted about how LGBT history has affected them as individuals, whilst growing up and as adults. It's their story and you can hear it here:
