We are proud of our unique Values and Ethics and continue to be the only UK high street bank with a customer-led Ethical Policy. We will be reaching out to you to help update this policy in 2020. Whether it’s how we run our business, to shaping our products and services and the issues that matter to you, we want to hear from you. The co-operative values we share with our customers and communities remain at the heart of everything we do.

Our shared achievements

As we look ahead to the coming year, it’s also time to reflect on the great things we’re achieving together. With your support, we achieved a huge amount last year:

  • We’ve raised £1.1m to date, to end youth homelessness in partnership with Centrepoint
  • We were voted Most Trusted Mainstream Bank at the Moneywise Customer Service Awards
  • We supported future Human Rights defenders with Amnesty International’s Rise Up programme and joined their global Write for Rights campaign
  • We were proud to support inclusion and diversity at Manchester Pride
We campaigned against climate change at the Global Climate Strike.

Making a difference together in 2020

This year we’re continuing our environmental commitments with an ambitious target of achieving Zero Waste to Landfill by the end of 2020. We’re doing this in a number of ways – from switching to 100% recyclable paper cups and removing single-use plastics from our offices, to continuing to recycle customers’ old card readers. This year we’re also using a new ‘closed loop’ solution for our paper waste, which means the paper we throw away gets recycled and turned into paper we can use again.

We’ve also listened to how our customers use our branches and have extended or moved some of our opening hours to suit you.

To find out more about our new opening times, please visit our branch locator.

Thank you again, and here’s to a great 2020.

Andrew Bester, Chief Executive
