Devastating floods have hit Pakistan. More than a thousand people have already lost their lives as a result of these floods, and with at least a further 33 million affected.

More than a million homes have been destroyed or badly damaged, leaving many homeless and exposed to the elements. People are in desperate need of food, clean drinking water, and shelter.

People urgently need our help. If you can, please join us by donating now.

Donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee (justgiving.com)

Here’s how your donations can help:

£10 could provide essential hygiene supplies for two people

£50 could provide emergency shelter for two families

£100 could provide emergency food for two families for a month

One third of the country – an area the size of the whole of the UK – has been submerged. Entire villages have been swept away. Schools, roads, crops and livelihoods are gone, and conditions are expected to worsen as the rains continue.

Here at The Co-operative Bank, we’re committed to supporting those who need our help both here in the UK and abroad, and we have been shocked and saddened by the devastation in Pakistan, caused by the adverse impact of the climate crisis we’re facing.

This is why we are supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Pakistan Floods Appeal with a £10,000 donation, and we are asking our customers, suppliers, and third parties to help us raise further vital funds to provide life-saving aid to the millions affected.

DEC charities are already on the ground providing life-saving aid either directly or through local partners. But they urgently need more funds to reach more people.

Find out more about the appeal on the Disasters Emergency Committee Pakistan Floods Appeal Website.
