If you suspect someone is trying to scam you, please call 159 straight away from a different device to the one the suspected scammer has contacted you on. Lines are open 24/7.

Confirmation of Payee

The Confirmation of Payee check helps to make sure your payments are sent to the right person or business.

If the name of the person or business you're paying doesn’t match the name registered to the sort code and account number, the Confirmation of Payee check will let you know and provide you with the option to proceed with the payment, cancel it, or change the payee details.
