Recurring payments

You can set up a recurring payment in Business Online Banking. Follow the steps below to make a recurring payment to an existing payee:

  1. Log in to Business Online Banking.
  2. Under ‘Shortcuts’ on the dashboard, click ‘Make a UK payment.’
  3. If they are not already selected, select ‘Pay someone else’ and ‘UK.’
  4. Click ‘Continue.’
  5. Complete the ‘Make a UK payment’ form and select ‘Pay later or create a recurring payment.’
  6. Select ‘Pay multiple times.’
  7. Select how often you want to make the payment under ‘Repeat schedule.’
  8. Under ‘Repeats,’ select:
    • ‘Indefinitely’ if you don’t want the payment to end on a certain date.
    • ‘Until a set date’ if you do want it to end on a certain date.
    • ‘A set number of times’ if you want to make the payment a certain number of times.
  9. If you selected ‘Until a set date’ or ‘A set number of times,’ enter the end date or the number of times you want to make the payment.
  10. Select:
    • ‘Pay now’ if you want to make the first payment today.
    • ‘Pay later’ if you want to make the first payment in the future.
  11. If you selected ‘Pay later,’ enter the date for the first payment.
  12. Click ‘Continue.’

If you have dual authentication set up on your account, follow the step below to set an approver for the payment. If you do not have dual authentication set up on your account, go to ‘If you use the HID Approve app’ or ‘If you use a physical token’ below.

  1. Select ‘Any Approver’ if it is not already selected and you want anyone on the account to be able to approve the payment, or select a certain user’s name if you only want them to be able to approve it.

If you use the HID Approve app

  1. In the app, select ‘Challenge Response’ in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
  2. Enter the eight digit number from Business Online Banking then tap the screen.
  3. Enter your PIN and press ‘OK’ to generate a secure code.
  4. In Business Online Banking, enter the secure code from the app and click ‘Confirm payment.’

If you use a physical token

  1. On your physical token, enter your four digit PIN, do not press OK and ignore the message ‘CHAL - OTP’ if it appears.
  2. Immediately enter the eight digit number from Business Online Banking then press ‘OK’ to generate a secure code.
  3. In Business Online Banking, enter the secure code from your physical token and click ‘Confirm payment.’
