Information for TPPs

The Bank's implementation focuses on PSD2 regulatory compliance to enable access to online payment accounts by Account Information Service Providers (AISPs), Payment Initiation Service Providers (PISPs) or Card Based Payment Instruction Issuers (CBPIIs).

For Business Banking, our approach to meeting PSD2 regulatory compliance is changing from a modified customer interface to a dedicated interface (Open Banking APIs).

We are preparing to deliver these changes and make them available in production during Q4 2021. To assist your preparation for these changes, Token.io provide a dedicated interface (API) testing facility (Sandbox) which is available now for you to access payment accounts.

To access the Sandbox you will need to be authorised or registered, (as appropriate):

  • by the FCA (in the UK) as an AISP, PISP or CBPII; or
  • at least have applied to the FCA or a comparable competent authority for the relevant authorisation.

You must also use the accepted certificates:

  • eIDAS QWAC
  • OBWAC

We will work with TPPs who meet the above criteria to access our online payment accounts.

Please note that the modified customer interface still applies for access to our Retail online information. Please see the Retail Technical Specification documentation here.

Our existing modified users interface (MCI) will be available whilst we build our dedicated interface. TPPs using our Business Banking MCI can raise any queries by contacting the TPP support team tpp.support@co-operativebank.co.uk. Please note: we intend to depreciate our Business Banking MCI when our dedicated interface (Open Banking APIs) go-live.

For further information about our Open Banking APIs, available as a Sandbox now and coming to Production in Q4 2021, please visit the Token.io website https://developer.token.io/coop_rest_api_doc/content/e-rest/rest_intro.htm
