Our work with Centrepoint
A mortgage means so much more than just a roof over your head. It's a way of getting somewhere to call your own. A safe haven. A home.
But 150,000 young people asked for help with homelessness last year alone. For some, having a permanent roof over their head is like a distant dream.
Every year the charity Centrepoint helps more than 9,000 homeless 16-25 year olds in the UK with a safe place to live, health support and access to education and training. Centrepoint is more than just a place to stay. It helps homeless young people into a home and a job and equips them with the independent living skills needed to escape homelessness for good.
What we’re doing to help
£25 to Centrepoint for every new mortgage customer
Chosen as our charity partner
- Each £25 will go towards funding The Centrepoint Helpline, where people can get in touch for advice or guidance for themselves, or someone they know. We'll also give to their new Manchester hub, which recently opened its doors to Central and Greater Manchester's young homeless community.
- Centrepoint has been chosen as our charity partner. Whether it's a dress-down day or a half-marathon, we'll support our employees to raise money for this worthy cause - even matching their donations in some cases.

Terms of the donation:
New mortgage customer applications received during the 12 month period commencing 2nd May 2017 will be eligible for the donation, on completion of the mortgage. New mortgages taken out by existing mortgage customers or transactions relating to their existing mortgage (e.g. a product switch, further advance, porting of an existing mortgage or change of borrower) are not eligible for the Centrepoint charity donation at this time. The £25 will be paid following completion of the mortgage and the Bank will make a payment to Centrepoint quarterly, for eligible completions during the previous quarter.
The £25 donation will be made for each new-to-Bank mortgage sold through direct and intermediary channels i.e. it applies to the Bank’s Britannia and Platform branded mortgages. Britannia and Platform are trading names of The Co-operative Bank p.l.c. The Bank reserves the right to change or withdraw the donation arrangement at any time.
