Charity Credit Cards

A message from the The Co-operative Bank

After long and successful relationships providing charity credit cards, raising a significant amount of money for good causes in the process, we’ve taken the decision to stop providing our charity cards on 31st January 2018; and instead develop other charity-linked products.

Any transactions that you make from that date onwards will no longer generate donations to the following charities:

  • Amnesty International
  • GreenPeace
  • Oxfam
  • Save the Children
  • Tearfund
  • WaterAid
  • Woodland Trust
  • Christian Aid

As a bank that is defined by its values & ethics, we are proud of the relationship we have with our charity partners, which has helped us to raise over £14m from the charity credit cards over the lifetime of the relationships.

Although it is disappointing to end these relationships, we continue to work with charities in other ways. Customers can opt into Everyday Rewards through the Bank's Standard and Packaged Current Accounts and choose to make charitable donations by carrying out Everyday Banking. As we state in our Ethical Policy, we are committed to working with charities, co-operatives and community enterprises, and will continue to do so despite this decision and will look at other ways to promote our charity partners through other products we provide. For example, working with Centrepoint, we donate £25 for every new mortgage completion which helps a young homeless person get a roof over their head. Learn about the work we do with Centrepoint.
