The Co-operative Bank has been named ‘Best Charity Banking Provider’ and ‘Best Service from a Business Bank’ at a recent award ceremony in London with more than 600 guests in attendance.

In their seventeenth year, the Business Moneyfacts Awards are well established and totally independent. The annual awards are presented for product excellence and outstanding service.

The Co-operative Bank’s Platform mortgage business was also commended in the category of ‘Best Buy-to-Let Mortgage Provider’. In total the bank and its subsidiaries were nominated in eight categories. The others were:

  • Best Business Current Account Provider;
  • Best Business Card Provider;
  • Innovation in the SME finance sector for: The Hive;
  • Business Start-up Bank of the Year;
  • Business Bank of the Year.

Paul Denton, Head of Branch Network, Mortgages and Business Banking at The Co-operative Bank said: “Supporting charities and providing excellent service to our customers continues to be a huge focus of the bank, showing that Values and Ethics and treating customers fairly are key to us and sit at the heart of our business. We’re proud to have received these awards and been acknowledged in so many categories for the work that we do. We will continue to work hard and demonstrate our support for charitable causes and the organisations that choose to bank with us.”

Lee Tillcock, Editor of Business Moneyfacts, said: "The seventeenth annual Business Moneyfacts Awards has recognised those providers, brokers and trade bodies that helped to make the previous twelve months more positive for businesses. While the last year has proven somewhat unpredictable on a political level, it has been profitable for many businesses, as well as their broker and finance providing partners. While challenges remain, there is little doubt that the levels of choice and willingness to find real funding solutions both improved throughout the year. The need to continue the good work that has been started is vital, and a continued commitment to quality and product choice as displayed by the worthy finalists and eventual winners of these awards is of paramount importance."
