In a 2015 study, The Money Advice Service suggested four in ten adults in the UK do not have more than £500 in savings. At one time or another we have all had an unexpected expense come out of the blue. A boiler repair, a vet's bill, or maybe a car breakdown. Amnesty International UK’s Rise Up: Our First Session

At Amnesty International UK, we are very proud to have held our first Rise Up weekend with aspiring young campaigners from across the UK in September. Supported by The Co-operative Bank, Rise Up is a one-year training programme for young people interested in achieving social change. Made up of four residential weekend sessions, the aim is to build skills, knowledge, confidence and networks so participants feel well equipped to lead their own social change campaigns. A more co-operative form of banking

Later this month, we will be supporting the 2019 Ethical Consumer Conference, and sharing thoughts on how we can work together to tackle climate change. Maria Cearns, Managing Director of Current Accounts and Savings, will be speaking at the event about how The Bank is addressing the current climate crisis and its environmental impact.
