What is Apple Pay and how do I register?

Apple Pay is a 'digital wallet' created by Apple that lets you store your credit and debit cards, then pay using your device. This can be used in any high-street store, online or in-app for payments when you see the Apple Pay or contactless logo. Any Apple device that's compatible (like the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, iPhone SE, and later) can use Apple Pay.

Apple pay is a free service, however, any processing fees that would normally be charged for making card payments will still apply, such as administration fees applied by some retailers or overseas card usage fees.

You can learn more about Apple Pay and view the terms on the Apple Pay website.

Can a secondary cardholder register for Apple pay?

The main credit cardholder for the account (so the person who receives the bills) is responsible for the additional cardholder's use of the account, including use that makes you break your credit card agreement (your account terms and conditions contain more information about this). An authentication code will be sent to the main account holder to their device by text or email, and once the card has been verified, it'll be available for use in the secondary account holder's Wallet.
