Q. What is a euro CHAPS?
A. euro CHAPS is a way of transferring money to one of the following countries:

Our charge for a euro CHAPS is £25.00 and the money will normally take 1 working day to reach the receiving bank. Please note that the transfer can take up to 3 working days.
You can give us a sterling or euro amount, however the money will always be converted and sent as euros. Rates of exchange will be set at the time the transfer is made.
Q. What do I need to make a euro CHAPS transfer?
A. For a euro CHAPS transfer we need to know the following information:
- beneficiary bank's name and address
- beneficiary bank's BIC/SWIFT code
- beneficiary’s account name
- Beneficiary’s IBAN
- reference (if you need to send one)
Q. Is there anything else I need to know about euro CHAPS?
A. Additional charges with euro CHAPS transfers are rare but they are a possibility.
With euro CHAPS, the correspondent bank can also make a charge. This charge varies between countries and the amount being sent. There is also a possibility of other agents being involved who could also apply a charge. The fee is usually debited from the amount sent.
If you've given us an IBAN and/or BIC/SWIFT code to use and the overseas bank tell us it is incorrect, they may charge an additional fee, which will be deducted from your account.
