Life insurance

If the worst were to happen, life assurance could mean your family shouldn’t have to worry about financial matters like mortgages, bills and other debts. It won't help your family get over their loss, but it will help them out financially.

For your peace of mind, there are a number of different types of life cover available

  • Term Assurance
The simplest form of life cover which could cost from just a few pence per day. You have a choice of term assurance:
    • Level Term Assurance - pays a fixed amount on death within the term of the policy.
    • Decreasing Term Assurance - pays an amount that reduces over the term of the policy, usually intended to coincide with the reducing balance of a capital repayment mortgage.
  • Income Benefit Assurance
On death during the term of the policy, provides a quarterly income to help support your loved ones after you’re gone.
  • Whole of Life Insurance
Provides a guaranteed lump sum should you die at any time, no matter how long you may live.

To apply call 0845 300 3525* and arrange an appointment with a Co-operative Insurance Financial Adviser.

Term assurance and income benefit only pays out on death within the term of the policy. It does not acquire a cash-in value and does not pay out if you live beyond the policy term.

Any advice from Co-operative Financial Advisers will relate only to a range of the products and services available from members of the CFS marketing group, and a limited number of other companies.

Some of these policies can be issued in joint names; please talk to a Co-operative Financial Adviser for guidance. If the policy is proposed in your own name, then benefits will form part of your estate to be distributed in accordance with any will you have drawn up and may be subject to inheritance tax.

*Calls to 0845 numbers will cost no more than 4p per minute for BT customers. Call charges from other companies may vary and you may want to check this with your service provider.

Calls may be monitored or recorded for security and training purposes.
