Harapan Rainforest, Sumatra - keep carbon where it belongs, save fantastic wildlife
When forests are destroyed, we all lose: almost 20 percent of the world’s greenhouse gases come from forest destruction.
The RSPB is working with its sister organisation Burung Indonesia and the global conservation network BirdLife International to protect endangered rainforest in Sumatra, Indonesia. Every time you use your think credit card we’ll make a donation on your behalf, so this project can help secure areas of rainforest that would otherwise be logged and burned.
Not only will your donation help the global climate, but it will also go towards providing secure, sustainable jobs in forest management for local people and provide a home for the priceless wildlife that lives there. Harapan Rainforest is one of the last bastions for the Sumatran Tiger, and supports more than 280 bird species, such as the rhinoceros hornbill with its giant red and yellow bill.
The very first time you use your Co-operative Bank think credit card we’ll help to protect a third of an acre of Indonesian rainforest on your behalf for the next 100 years.
