Preparing for your mortgage appointment

To ensure we're able to process your application as quickly as possible, please bring the following information and documentation to your mortgage appointment. The following information may not be needed for your first appointment, but you will need this to progress onto an application.

What you'll need

  • Name (including any previous names) and full address details for the last 3 years for each applicant
  • Personal identification for each applicant such as your passport or driving licence. You'll need this if you're applying in one of our branches. Find out what we'll accept
  • Sort code and account number for the account you wish to pay your mortgage subscriptions from
  • Most recent full month's personal bank statement for each applicant showing latest income and household expenditure for all current accounts held
  • If you're remortgaging, your most recent mortgage statement is really useful
  • Details of any existing loans and credit cards including balances, terms and interest rates
  • If you're employed, details of any sickness benefit you receive from your employers
  • If you're an existing customer and your mortgage is on an interest only basis, please provide information about how you intend to repay your mortgage at the end of the term. For example, the latest statement for your endowment policy or details of savings

    Further documents you need for your appointment

    Employed income

    Employer's details including name, address, postcode, phone number, and 3 months' pay slips if you're applying in one of our branches

    Self employed

    Your last two years' accounts, your last two years' tax assessment forms (SA302) plus your latest full month's bank statement

    Contracts (Fixed / Short term)

    Copy of contract and evidence of your income e.g. payslips

    Overtime / bonus

    Your last 3 months' payslips showing this payment or your P60. If your bonus/commission is annual we'll need your P60s from the last 3 years

    Pensions

    If you receive a state pension, we'll need your DWP letter. If you have a private pension, we'll require your pension payslip/statement

    Additional properties

    Details of any additional properties owned. Please include the value of the property, mortgage amount and any rental income received

    Working/child tax credits

    HMRC letter from current tax year's award or bank statements showing this award

    Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage
