VbV is a free service from Visa in association with The Co-operative Bank. It offers enhanced security when making online transactions, adding protection with the use of a personal passcode.
VbV is straightforward and easy to use. The card holder registers a passcode which is used to validate and confirm online purchases made with participating retailers.
To ensure you have added protection against online card fraud a VbV passcode must be registered. If a VbV passcode is not registered, the online transaction may not be authorised.
When making an online transaction with a participating VbV retailer you will be prompted to register a passcode. Simply follow the online instructions displayed within the VbV display window.
You will need to remember your passcode, as once registered you will be asked to confirm 3 random characters of this each time you make an online purchase with a participating retailer.
Security Tip - Register a passcode which is easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess. A strong password should include a combination of letters and numbers.
